POKOTABI / Sapporo Ramen
サッポロ ラーメン
Add butter, corn or wakame to miso ramen, or choose from shio ramen, stir-fried garlic chives and gyoza, among other neighbourhood Chinese-style dishes. A good option for an evening meal.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A pat of butter melting into miso ramen can change the flavour from one mouthful to the next. One diner at Sapporo Ramen said adding butter made the bowl even more enjoyable. Corn and wakame are also available as toppings, offering an easy way to customise a miso ramen. Another review praised a simple, old-fashioned miso ramen with butter and corn added; you could start with the classic bowl and build from there.
The noodle selection goes well beyond miso, with shoyu, shio, curry, kimchi and gomoku ramen, as well as chashu ramen. One diner described the shio ramen’s broth as light and enjoyed adjusting its flavour with grated garlic or spicy miso. Whether you prefer to deepen the richness of miso with toppings or season a bowl of shio to taste, there are options for different moods. There is also yakisoba with a savoury sauce and Chinese-style yakisoba seasoned with soy sauce, for a change from soup noodles.
A diner who expected a ramen specialist based on the name found a broader, neighbourhood Chinese-style menu instead. The à la carte dishes include stir-fried garlic chives, nira-reba (garlic chives and liver), sweet-and-sour pork, chilli prawns and gyoza, so you can pair a dish with noodles or make the food the focus of the meal. Stir-fried garlic chives stood out for one diner who ordered them with shio ramen. Another review described the gyoza as bite-sized, with a pronounced garlic flavour—an easy extra to add to a bowl of ramen.
Sapporo Ramen is open for late-evening meals. Its hours are 17:00 to 23:00 on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday; it is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. With ramen, à la carte dishes and alcoholic drinks on offer, it suits both a quick bowl of noodles and a meal with gyoza or a stir-fry.
